Community Conversation for Housing Justice with Welcome Home

No one is a stranger to the fact we are in a housing crisis. Whether it’s the pain of seeing people suffer out in the cold and not having a home to offer them or struggling to cover all the bills yourself and what that means for housing, we are all affected.  In 2023, Welcome Home Coalition staff will begin our Community Conversations for Housing Justice events. This event is aimed to be a public education session as well as community building space to increase a shared understanding of root causes of homelessness and housing instability and what solution ideas everyone has and what are solutions we can all get behind collectively.

What To Expect

  • We will have food and drink.
  • A brief presentation on the state of housing in our tri-county region.
  • Voices for Housing Justice advocates with lived experience with homelessness/housing instability will share their personal stories.
  • We will facilitate an open dialogue with event attendees about concerns and solutions to our housing crisis.

Why This Event Is Happening

Housing is on everybody’s mind and many of us want to do something to fix the crisis but it can feel overwhelming. Let’s come together and break down the issue and learn from each other and hopefully attendees leave these conversations with new information and action steps, new relationships, and new hope!

Join us on Saturday, April 22nd from 3-4:30pm at SE Uplift (3534 SE Main St)
