SE Uplift Guided Rides Explore Community Projects
Hey there!! Welcome to Bike Summer 2023’s Discover Your Neighborhood bike rides hosted by SE Uplift. Rides happen each month in June, July, and August. Every ride highlights fun community projects and city transportation projects happening throughout the inner southeast district. There are opportunities to hear directly from the people bringing projects to life on each ride. Be inspired, get connected, and discover your neighborhood.
Many of the projects started with an idea to improve the neighborhood and received startup funds from SE Uplift and the City of Portland’s Community Small Grants. You too can bring your community idea to life with these funds. There is still time to develop your vision for how your group’s project will support community activities in your neighborhood before the next cycle opens in the fall.
Every ride is a no-drop ride, so if you need to leave early, please let us know and say goodbye before disappearing. Meet at 11:00 a.m. and ride at 11:15 a.m. We’ll wrap up by 1:00 p.m. and you will have the option to purchase food and drinks from local vendors at the end locations of each ride.
While each ride covers a variety of routes, much of each ride are either on current or future neighborhood greenways. Neighborhood greenways are quiet, slow streets that prioritize people walking, biking, and rolling and provide connections across the city between neighborhoods, parks, schools, and business districts. Neighborhood greenways can be found across the city with new priority streets being developed this year.
We are so glad to have you here with us to discover your neighborhood this summer with SE Uplift!
