SE Uplift’s Fiscal Sponsorship program extends our tax-exempt status to other groups whose work meets our mission so that they may engage in fundraising and grant-seeking activities. SE Uplift encourages our neighborhood associations and other community lead projects to fundraise and seek grants. However, we realize that their ability to raise funds is often limited by a lack of tax-exempt status. That is, many donors are more inclined to contribute to a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization so that their donation can be tax deductible. Fiscal sponsorship is simple. Organizations fill out one application for all projects that would benefit from tax-exemption. Both the applicant’s leadership and SE Uplift Board review and approve the application, and then sign an agreement outlining roles and responsibilities.
Please note: SE Uplift is not accepting applications from community organizations at this time, except through our grant programs. Projects led by community groups and organizations can apply as projects of their neighborhood association, as circumstances allow.
